What better way to get into the fall mood than to do apple themed sessions?! I had so much fun with the couple of sweet kids that came out that morning. I always like to use nature as my biggest prop because God has surrounded us with beauty so all I did was throw in a lots of apples, baskets and crates for a more fall fun look. These precious photos make me want to do more themed sessions with kids.
I wanted to find a neat little spot that was a little different from where I have been prior for this sweet little ones photo shoot. I found a neat community garden is Suwannee GA that fit the bill, the butterfly garden was full of bright flowers and pretty walk ways and the red barn was nice too. Sweet Ashlynn was a runner and gave me a nice workout that evening but the photos to follow always make the running worth it. Besides I love getting out and making shoots about playing too.
Hey everyone. With fall right around the corner I want to set some tips up out for everyone. Many people think oh fall I can wait till October to book my family fall photo/Christmas card photo. Fact is majority of photographers in GA book for this busy time of the year months ahead so if your considering it then check through this post for some great tips to get you ready on time.
1. Coordinate your clothing.
I always recommend to my clients to not all match but choose one maybe two colors and build off of that. You want to look stylish and have everyone's personality shine through and not look dated with everyone in blue jeans and a white shirt. Layers are great and don't forget those beautiful accessories. Sweaters over dress shirts, fun flats or boots, unique wraps/scarves, jewelry and hair bows are all great things to consider when planning. Oh and yes the baby below isn't wearing shoes, I mean this is still GA were talking about.
2. Love A Casual Photo
When your getting that family photo you want it to look casual and relaxed like your having a fun time being with your family. If you do the photo yourself that may or may not be easy to achieve for yourself. If you have decided to hire a professional photographer make sure you take a look at the type of photography they offer and determine if their style is a good fit for your family. I know I love color and I love the more relaxed look where no one has a forced cheese face.
Choose your timing right. Take in to account your child's nap time, eating schedule and when they are just plain happiest. Don't be afraid to mention these concerns to your photographer so you can score that happy child photo every mom and dad want.
4. Plan Ahead
Now I know I keep saying plan ahead but really when is it a bad thing to plan in advance. You can plan the outfits, beg kids to smile and already have that Christmas card photo in your head but to make it that much more plan ahead for the shoot itself with your hired photographer. If you have a prop in mind or want to incorporate some pumpkins, pin wheels, hay/leaves, a family sports team those are all great things and some that can really say a lot about your family. It can keep everyone happy and playful expressing themselves. The kids below thought it was pretty funny that I stood on a chair above them and dropped leaves on them.

Little Hunter is a part of my newly offered one year baby plan. It has been such a wonderful journey with this family as I have photographed them from mom's maternity session last year to Hunter's newborn session and now his 6 month session. I just can't wait to do his one year photos and watch this little one dive into some cake. What a true blessing children are, there is no greater gift God can give. Your children grow up way to fast so don't skip out on those yearly birthday photos or bypass newborn sessions. This little guy has changed so much in 6 months it is unreal. Go with a photographer who is passionate about what they do, who clicks with babies and children well and whose work stands out to you. Make sure your photographer knows their camera inside and out and there work shows that. If your pregnant and want to get on a one year plan don't hesitate just email me and we can talk about it.
Here is Hunter in the making, hehe.
Here is a newborn image of little guy Hunter.
Now we have a completely different look at 6 months. Just wait till that first year shoot comes around!
I met the Stanley family last fall for their Christmas photos and we hit it off like old friends. Becky's has the sweetest girls and a fun loving husband and of course she is very sweet herself. Last fall she told me she was expecting and they were not going to find out the gender. With two girls already at home I think they really wanted a little boy to fill their home and heart and that is just what they got. Baby Noah was a joy on his first photo shoot and did great. He is a natural for the camera.
What a doll is all I can say. I spent the afternoon chasing and playing with this sweet girl and we got some pretty great images just letting her be a fun toddler. While at the park we even got in the water for some play time. Children may keep you running but what a blessing they are and joy to be around.
I meet the Bratcher family in Dacula for a fun family session. They were just so relaxed and down to earth and after chasing their sweet little girl around a bit she warmed up to me for some great smiles in no time. She is such a doll and for sure has her daddy wrapped around her little fingers. Bratcher's, you have a great little family.
Well let me start by saying if you know me then you know I am a HUGE dawgs fan so doing this maternity session in Athens was the best. We went to a beautiful little garden called Founders Memorial Garden. Amy and Heath are expecting their first child a little girl and I can not wait on her arrival as she will be the first newborn girl I photograph. So excited for them and for me too.
Three beautiful ladies pretty much sums it up. Amber has been wanting to have photos taken of her and her two daughters for some time now so I am so glad when she was ready to do it she contacted me. Amber is such a sweet person and her two daughter can really ham it up, haha. The oldest wanting to design the shoot for me, helping me hold my camera steady and coming up with poses for everyone. The youngest just wanted to run barefoot through the grass and play and be a kid. She did offer up some cute smiles too though. What a blessing and fun children can be.
I met the Nowicki family through Plum District (an awesome deal site geared towards thrifty mom's). Jennifer and her husband and daughter were so awesome. They were fun loving for sure and you could tell in love with their little girl. Maybe I was a bit carried away with the tons of photos of her I took but she was to cute and smiley not too! I even ended up staying after the session for a bit just talking, I love meeting people that you just click with. It makes for completely awesome sessions.
I had the pleasure of meeting the Cronin family for their little family of three session. We meet up at maybe one of the best places in the area to have a summer session. With the beautiful barns, open fields and a gorgeous farm house front porch to sit on. It really doesn't get much more southern than that, unless we would've had some sweet tea.
What a beautiful (or is it more proper for a boy to say handsome) baby Preston is. He is such a happy baby, watching the world go round the whole session. Not a peep out of him till his mom and dad tried to dress him up in a button down. This chill child was not having it so we stripped it off of him and well you can see how great he did. Stephanie you have a great looking family for sure.
With Mothers Day right around the corner I hope you all are finding ways to show your mom's and grandma's and don't forget mother in law's that you love them. I was so excited to offer these fun little sessions to mom's so they could have a great portrait with their child/children. I think every mom deserves something nice like that to hang on her wall and always cherish.

A fun and happy little family welcomed a baby boy Jacob into the world three weeks ago. I usually ask clients to bring newborns in before two weeks but this little trooper did amazing. He slept, ate and slept some more the whole session. My heart melts for sweet babies and if you have worked with me you know it, I love the babes and this little guy had me swooning and of course his mom with her "awww's" through out the session. I say it all the time, I have the best job in the world. Welcome sweet baby Jacob.
Hello fans. I told you when these sweet babies made their entrance into the world I would share, well my my these two sweet boys had me swooning. I had the pleasure of loving on (and photographing) Baby Eli. He was the sweetest little thing and you could just tell from his mommy and daddy he has love surrounding him. His daddy couldn't be prouder and he even has a big sister to keep him busy as he grows up. Plus did I tell you I have never seen a infant smile as much as he did, I mean I even captured it. He knows his place and is smiling big because of it.
Then came the bundle of joy, baby Paxton. This little one slept just about the whole session and made my day so completely easy. He is the best little model there could be. His big sister couldn't stop kissing and touching her new brother and mommy and daddy were head over heels. They still are getting swept away from his sweetness and calm nature. I am honored to be working with such amazing families that is for sure.
Well, well guess I will just jump in head first and start the much needed blog. I would usually think I have no idea what to write but that is no issue when you love what your going to feature. I have so much I could catch up on from wonderful past sessions but I will start with this spring. I am guessing love was in the air about 9 months ago because I have been photographing lots of bellies and babies this spring, hehe. A best friend of mine had a beautiful baby boy, another Heather (what a great name, haha) had another baby boy and a great looking young couple with surprise a girl coming soon. I thought it was the year of the boys there for a minute. Check out these great baby bellies and the one baby I have so far had the pleasure of photographing. Hopefully many more bellies grace my camera as I do love maternity and newborn sessions.
Well hello there baby Eli, so glad you made it into the world healthy and safe. See you soon baby Paxton.
