Next Up Is Fall!

Hey everyone. With fall right around the corner I want to set some tips up out for everyone. Many people think oh fall I can wait till October to book my family fall photo/Christmas card photo. Fact is majority of photographers in GA book for this busy time of the year months ahead so if your considering it then check through this post for some great tips to get you ready on time.

1. Coordinate your clothing.

I always recommend to my clients to not all match but choose one maybe two colors and build off of that. You want to look stylish and have everyone's personality shine through and not look dated with everyone in blue jeans and a white shirt. Layers are great and don't forget those beautiful accessories. Sweaters over dress shirts, fun flats or boots, unique wraps/scarves, jewelry and hair bows are all great things to consider when planning. Oh and yes the baby below isn't wearing shoes, I mean this is still GA were talking about.

2. Love A Casual Photo

When your getting that family photo you want it to look casual and relaxed like your having a fun time being with your family. If you do the photo yourself that may or may not be easy to achieve for yourself. If you have decided to hire a professional photographer make sure you take a look at the type of photography they offer and determine if their style is a good fit for your family. I know I love color and I love the more relaxed look where no one has a forced cheese face.

3. Timing Is Everything.

Choose your timing right. Take in to account your child's nap time, eating schedule and when they are just plain happiest. Don't be afraid to mention these concerns to your photographer so you can score that happy child photo every mom and dad want.

4. Plan Ahead

Now I know I keep saying plan ahead but really when is it a bad thing to plan in advance. You can plan the outfits, beg kids to smile and already have that Christmas card photo in your head but to make it that much more plan ahead for the shoot itself with your hired photographer. If you have a prop in mind or want to incorporate some pumpkins, pin wheels, hay/leaves, a family sports team those are all great things and some that can really say a lot about your family. It can keep everyone happy and playful expressing themselves. The kids below thought it was pretty funny that I stood on a chair above them and dropped leaves on them.

If your interested in a fall mini session or a full hour with Heather B Photography you can contact us through this site or email [email protected] for package options. Sessions will be held in Suwanne, Jefferson and Braselton this year.
